Setting up custom shipping rates for your Shopify store can improve your customer's shipping experience and help you manage shipping costs effectively. Calculating shipping rates for your Shopify store can be pretty challenging, and not calculating precise delivery charges can cost you your profit.
Default Shopify Shipping needs to be improved for Shopify stores, requiring a more complex and customized approach. It allows you to set up basic rates for a country, for example, but you can not expect more complex activity than that. It would help if you had a lot more parameters and conditions to calculate your rates accurately.
Postcode Shipping is a Shopify Shipping App tailored for Shopify merchants to start calculating precise and transparent shipping rates.
Postcode Shipping directly saves Shopify merchants money by avoiding losses due to surprise shipping costs. It calculates shipping rates based on location or product parameters and helps create powerful and flexible delivery charges. With Postcode Shipping, you will control how shipping rates are calculated and displayed at checkout.
Postcode Shipping can manage complex shipping setups, including unique models like offshore and multi-ZIP code shipping. It is a favourite among dropshipping stores because of its feature of calculating unique rates for specific products and product groups. Unexpected shipping costs can eat into your profits, and not calculating accurate and transparent shipping rates can lead to overcharging or undercharging customers. And it is well known that high or unclear shipping costs are a leading cause of cart abandonment.
Controlling how shipping rates are calculated and displayed at checkout decreases abandoned cart occurrences. By providing precise and transparent shipping rates, you build trust with your customers, encouraging them to complete their purchases.
By using the Postcode Shipping App to calculate your shipping rates, you can focus on your store's sales while we take care of your shipping strategy.
A seamless and cost-effective shipping strategy that benefits both you and your customers is possible.
To set up effective custom shipping rates, start by understanding your shipping requirements:
Product Dimensions and Weight: Accurately measure and weigh your products to ensure precise shipping costs
Shipping Destinations: Identify the regions and countries you will ship to.
You can manage the general shipping rate if you want to use the default Shipping rates. If you decide to use product-based shipping, you must create different profiles for different product groups.
To Create custom shipping rates, you must "Create a new profile." Add "Profile name," "Add Products," and start creating "Shipping Zones" in the shipping To box. After setting up shipping zone names, nations, and areas, click "Done" to save the settings.
Click "Add Rate" to create a unique shipping rate for each shipping zone. Then, select the rate details to confirm the Shipping rates and click "Done."
You must create Shopify shipping zones in the shipping segment, which is a group of countries or regions with a commontariff.
Add any pricing for the specific zones, and don't forget to click "Save."
Set/Create Shopify Shipping Rates:
After creating a shipping profile and zones, you can start creating shipping rates for each profile individually. Default Shopify Shipping offers flat shopify shipping rates, calculated shopify shipping rates, and discounted and free shipping rates.
The option to "Add Conditions" is based on product weight or price, and you will have to enter a minimum and maximum value for selected criteria.
You decided to take control of your shipping rates and install Postcode Shipping. As a third-party shipping service, it offers extreme customization based on your requirements and can calculate shipping rates by location or product parameters.
To start receiving the Rates you create in PostCode Shipping, you will need to enable Postcode Shipping as the rates provider.
In Shopify Settings, click "Shipping & Delivery," click Manage Rates + Add Rates, and select "Use carrier or app to determine tariffs" from the menu.
Do the same for any other Shipping Zones.
Note: you'll only need to do this once for each Shipping Zone, as you're not adding rates; you're just connecting the Shopify Shipping Zones to the rates you've already created in the Postcode Shipping app.
The last thing you need to do is
Save your changes.
Now that you've set up your Shopify store to use any Rates you create in Postcode Shipping, you can automatically create your Shipping Zones, Regions, and Rates in Postcode Shipping.
Make sure to have Carrier Calculated Shipping (CCS) module.
To install and use Postcode Shipping, you will need the Carrier Calculated Shipping (CCS) module within your Shopify store. This module facilitates your store's ability to retrieve rates from an external shipping app. Stores on the Shopify Advanced and Plus plans have access to the Carrier Service API, which means that if you install Postcode Shipping, it'll run smoothly.
Stores on the 'Shopify' won't have the Carrier Service feature, but you can request access by contacting Shopify support.
Postcode Shipping will be a game-changer for your online business! It's seamless integration and easy-to-set-up shipping restrictions based on preferred parameters will ensure smooth deliveries every time.
